But first, a little bit about me and my "horrible" taste in music
I guess I'm interested in history. I read a lot about it a lot, and I guess I find the mid 20th century(1930s-1970s) to be pretty interesting. And so, I listen to a lot of music from back then as opposed to listening to stuff that plays on the radio today. I bet some people would think it's a little odd to listen to old stuff, but it suits me fine. As for my favorite band, I think I will have to go with what is arguably the most iconic band of the 1960s...
...The Beatles.
Oh...I just realized I had already wrote what the name of the band was at the top of the page...oh well.
List of band members
John Lennon(October 9, 1940-December 8, 1980)
Paul McCartney(June 18, 1942-present)
George Harrison(February 25, 1943-November 29, 2001)
Ringo Starr(July 7, 1940-present)
Side note(I just want to say this becuase I've always thought this: I always found it funny that three out of the four of them had normal names. "John" (which is my name), "Paul", "George". And then you throw in a name like "RINGO". I always just found it funny that it just stood out like that.
My top favorite three songs, and a brief(but hopefully somewhat funny) review to go along with each of them
Twist and Shout (orginal release date: March 22, 1963): What's to say about this song? It was on their first album, it was by extension one of their earilest hits, it nearly destroyed John Lennon's vocal chords in the recording session, it had a very memorable scene in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, it's just an iconic song from the mid-1960s.
Help (orgingal release date: July 19, 1965): I like this song. you know, it's a pretty cool song for the mid-1960s. I suppose in the words of Matthew McConaughey in those weird Lincoln commericals he did a few years back, "I just like it."
Here Comes The Sun (orginal release date: September 26, 1969): I tend to think to think of Twist and Shout as the begining of the 60s, and Here Comes The Sun as the end of the 60s. The 60s hwas a time of sudden and swift change in the world, and I think that it is very much relfected in the music of the era. The Beatles that made this songin 1969, were very different from the ones back in 1963.
